Loafing..eating..etc.

My final time was 4:08:45.

I was about 13 minutes (or 30 seconds per mile) off the pace I wanted to run, but not bad for a first marathon. Maybe Chicago will be under 4:00 (if I run a little smarter).

Split times:
10 miles - 85 minutes
13 miles - 1:48
20 miles - 2:51
26.2 miles - 4:08:45 ( the last 10K took almost an hour and 20 minutes. What happened? "the wall" happened.)

Yeah, I started out way too fast, spurred on by a couple of runners who were more experienced (and most likely didn't have intestinal issues). I reached the 20 mile mark a full 1/2 hour faster than the last time I ran 20 miles (by the lakefront).

Oh, and I threw up on the bus on the way back to the start line. Yeah, that's my vomit..jealous?
Thanks to the youngsters across the aisle from me who sacrificed a large gatorade cup (but it wasn't big enough) and to the driver who had paper towels on hand.

Sorry to hear about the emesis....I take it this is what you were referring to when you said "Don't eat avocados before a marathon." - Was it Linda-Blair-esque or more Alien Green?

Chartreuse with mystery bits. Looked like swamp water.

Apparently, I beat Oprah (4:26) and P. Diddy's best (4:10) , but not Will Ferrell. He ran a 3:55 once.
