7 - Getting serious
Started the week off by squeezing in the long run that I owed from Saturday.
Mon 7/31 - Long run of 8 miles done at work.
Tue 8/1 - Ran 3 miles - 1 mile at 7.6 mph (sub 8), one at 8.6 mph (7 min pace), and one at 9.6 plus. This last mile was finished in 6:22, my fastest mile ever. My goal is still to run a 6 minute mile before the end of the year. I did a couple minute recovery between each mile.
Wed 8/2 - Speed training (and/or 6 miles - Higdon) It will be hott out there!! Actual result: T-storms forced an early end. I did a half mile at about a 6:40 pace, then a 400m cooldown. That's it! Lost power at home later that night, storms were rather intense.
Thu 8/3 - 3 miles. Instead, ran 5 miles at 7:17 pace, then 1 mile at 6:02 (after recovery). I'm close to a 6 minute mile! (Crazy goal #3)
Fri 8/4 - rest. Confirmed.
Sat 8/5 - A 12-mile long run. Actually did 14 miles in 2:10:30. GI problems and starting too fast slowed me down at the end. I'm trying to remember details from Indy Mini, because I ran that without any need for a LepreCan. I know I started that one super slow (10-minute mile pace).
Sun 8/6 - cross. Lawn mowing? Car washing? Vacuuming? My bike is out of comission at the moment..Maybe I'll go skate.
