12 - Long runs resume?

Mon 9/4 - Long run today, Labor Day. I ate a large stack of blueberry pancakes in the late morning, and didn't eat again before the run at 5:30 in the evening.

Ran 16 miles, 8 dry and 8 in the rain. It was the easiest 16 miles I have ever run, maybe beacuse of flat terrain and not pushing too hard.
I kept up an 8:30 pace for the most part, and stopped for gatorade every 2 miles (and to make a chalk mark). When it started raining at 8 mile mark, I went in the house and rigged a sandwich bag around my iPod.

Total time: 2:18. If I can keep this pace up, I'll have a 3:45 marathon. I had a goo right before the run, and no goos in between, just diluted Gatorade - half gallon total. Still lost ~4 pounds..

Food after: peas with smoked pork butt bits, cucumber/pickled cabbage salad, mango nectar, 1 piece of wheat bread, some ajvar. Coconut gelato (oops). Also some strawnana nectar, and blueberry/pomegranate juice.

Tue 9/5 - rest
Wed 9/6 - Ran 7 miles at work, then 3.5 with TNT (speedwork)
Thu 9/7 - rest
Fri 9/8 - rest
Sat 9/9 - Ran 9 miles on lakefront. Rested at North Avenue to people watch.
Sun 9/10 - rest

I did actually keep this pace up for the marathon, and very close to a 3:45.
