2 - Starting Over

Hi.
I'm upset the Austin marathon didn't work out, but I'm now aiming for Grandma's marathon in Duluth coming up in June. I'll be trying to follow their intermediate training plan, which is quite challenging - only one day of rest each week. I'm fairly close to on-track for weeks one and two, running about 4 miles per day. I'll have to try and do some medium runs on Saturday and long runs on Sunday. It will be a huge commitment.

Schedule for this week (week 2)
Mon 2/19 - OFF ~ 4 mi
Tue 2/20 - 4 mi ~ 5 mi, 34:55 (fastest 5 miles ever!)
Wed 2/21 - 5 mi ~ Stationary bike, 31 min
Thu 2/22 - 4 mi ~ 4 miles, plus 45 minutes of pilates
Fri 2/23 - 4 mi ~ 2 miles, 14:08 - was tough in the cold!
Sat 2/24 - 5 miles at race pace ~ none
Sun 2/25 - 10 miles ~ none

18 - Marthon week! Week 1 of Grandma's

Well, I will not be going to Austin to run this Sunday. I could, but I won't. I have not done a long run since last year. I am not enormous, but bigger than I need to be. I have too much going on. So I will very unaffectedly run the Shamrock Shuffle and decide which marathon is next. Austin was way too hilly anyway, right?

Mon 2/12 - Snowed in. No runnie.
Tue 2/13 - Still snowed in, so no runnie again.
Wed 2/14 - Ran about 4 miles in about 30 minutes.
Thu 2/15 - Ran intervals (too complicated to list).About 35 minutes and 4+ miles
Fri 2/16 - Ran 4 miles in about 30 minutes.
Sat 2/17 - Rest
Sun 2/18 - Rest

Grandma's plan: 30 miles this week. My results: 12 miles.

17 - Hanging in and Hanging out

Week 2 of health challenge at work. Challenge is to run (or some other activity) at least 30 minutes per day, so I at least have an agenda.

Mon 2/5 - About 4 miles in about 31 minutes
Tue 2/6 - About 4 miles in about 31 minutes
Wed 2/7 - Half hour on stationary bike.
Thu 2/8 - rest
Fri 2/9 - off site so no access to fitness center, and no running
Sat 2/10 - rest
Sun 2/11 - rest some more
